Born on 6th May 1953. Obtained Degrees of B.Com., M.Com. (Adv. Accountancy), M.Com. (Modern Business and Industry) and LL.M. (Public International Law). Also passed Intermediate Examination of Institute of Company Secretaries of India.
After completing B.Com IN 1972, Started teaching at St.Peters School, Sabarmati. After passing M.Com., in 1974, started teaching in Prakash Higher Secondary School, near Gujarat College.
Enrolled as an advocate on 25th November 1978 and started practice in the High Court of Gujarat.
Practised Civil, Criminal, Constitutional, Labour and Service matters. Specialised in Service matters. Conducted number of Public Interest Litigation (PIL) matters and also attended number of Lok Adalats at various places in the State.
On completion of LL.M., joined Maneklal Nanavati Law College as Part Time Lecturer and continued upto 1996.
In 1996, accepted the Full Time Lecturer assignment and continued until elevated as the Judge, High Court of Gujarat.
Accepted the appointment as Assistant Government Pleader in July 1987 and Additional Public Prosecutor from December 1988, that continued up to May 1991. During this period, conducted variety of matters on behalf of Government of Gujarat.
During the practice, appeared for several statutory bodies like ONGC, Modasa Nagarpalika, Dhoraji Nagarpalika and Junagadh District Panchayat. Conducted number of Public Interest Litigation (PIL) matters. Attended number of Lok Adalats at various places in the State of Gujarat.
During college studies, actively participated in NCC and became "Best Cadet" of 10 Gujarat Battalion (NCC). Attended number of camps like "Attachment to the Regular Army" Camp at Jaipur; "All India Summer Camp" at Ootacamund (Ooty) and "Mountaineering Training Camp" at Manali. Also obtained 'B' and 'C' Certificates during NCC Training.
Elevated to the Bench of the High Court as additional Judge on 17.09.1999 and confirmed as Permanent Judge on 16.09.2001.
